Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors (10:30 PM ET)
The Nuggets were riding a five-game winning streak that came to a halt when the Jazz dealt them a 118-103 loss Monday night. Prior to losing to Utah, Denver was coming off a three-game home stand, in which they had beaten the Celtics, Thunder, and Magic. In all of those games, the Nuggets flaunted their offensive firepower by scoring no less than 101 points in each. In the last five games, the Nuggets are averaging 108.0 PPG. Denver is 5-1 SU and 4-1 ATS in its last six and five games.[sc:NBA240banner ]
Odds: Nuggets (+7) vs. Warriors (-7), O/U: 212.5
For four days, the Warriors rested their tired bodies after a brutal stretch that saw Golden State embark on a seven-game road trip before winning at a hard-fought match against the Celtics. As tough as that schedule was, the Warriors came up victorious in almost each of those games. In fact, Mark Jackson’s team is an amazing 11-1 SU in their last 12 games. The Warriors offense heavily relies on the backcourt duo of Stephen Curry (23.0 PPG) and Klay Thompson (19.2 PPG) but the team’s big men should also be credited for starting the Warriors’ smash mouth offense. Led by the pair of Andrew Bogut (10.3 RPG) and David Lee (9.9 RPG), the Warriors are the third best rebounding team in the NBA (46.5 RPG).
Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers (10:30 PM ET)
Dallas is on a three-game roll and the anticipated return of forward Shawn Marion bolsters the Mavericks chances of hitting four wins in a row vs. the Clippers. Against the Magic last Monday, offseason recruit Monta Ellis paced the Mavs with 21 points while adding 3 rebounds and 3 assists in Dallas’ easy 107-88 victory. Veteran Dirk Nowitzki (arm bruises) was hurt in that game but is expected to play tonight. The Mavericks are 4-1 SU in their last five games.
Odds: Mavericks (+5) vs. Clippers (-5), O/U: 207.0
Darren Collison is easing the pain of Chris Paul’s absence by proving that he is also capable of being a starter, too. After all, he already had an experience of filling in for Paul back when the two were still playing for New Orleans. Collison is averaging 18.0 PPG and 6.0 APG in the last 5 games, wherein the Clippers compiled a 4-1 SU record. J.J. Redick’s return to the lineup for the first time after suffering a finger injury last November, adds another dimension to the Clippers’ offense and whom Collison is happy to be seeing on the wings to open up the inside game of big men DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. The Clippers are 3-0 SU in their last three home games against the Mavs.
