Betting on the Michigan State Spartans (14-1)

The Michigan State Spartans (currently 14-1, 2-0 in the Big Ten) had a cakewalk of a week, slapping Cleveland State (111-61) and Savannah State (108-52) silly at home and ended the impressive run with a 30-point win over Maryland.

Heading into this Sunday’s game against Ohio State (before going back home to play Rutgers) the Spartans are enjoying their position on top of the 2018 college basketball futures, with +350 odds to win the NCAA Championship. The Spartans have now scored 100 points or more in four straight games and expect more of the same against the Buckeyes as they head into the meatier portion of their Big Ten schedule. This team is looking pretty damn good.

Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-4)

Ohio State Buckeyes took down the Iowa State Hawkeyes 92-81 on Thursday, remaining unbeaten in Big Ten play. Junior forward Keita Bates-Diop looked solid as he went on a personal 8-0 run late in the game. In fact, the junior led all players with 27 points, and added 13 rebounds to deliver his seventh double-double of the 2017-18 season. Small forward Jae’Sean Tate added support and played through a sprained shoulder to finish with 18 points and seven rebounds on the night. With two Big Ten road wins in the books and in scoring 83 points (Wisconsin) and 92 points (Iowa) to close out the week, the Buckeyes look ripe and ready for their game against the National Championship favorites.

Writer’s Prediction

Ohio State is looking good this week, but they are +50,000 to win the NCAA Championship for a reason. Pick: Michigan State will win but the Buckeyes will pick up enough points to prevent the cover.
