Betting on the Penn State Nittany Lions (ODDS)
Record: 13-6 Overall/4-4 Conference
Penn State returned in the win column with a 76-65 home win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers last Saturday. Before that, the Nittany Lions lost to the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison on Jan. 17th, 63-60. Penn State has won two of its last five games, with its other victory in that span an 85-66 thumping of the Indiana Hoosiers at home on Jan. 11th. Andrew Funk showed the way for Penn State in the win over Nebraska, scoring 23 points, while Jalen Pickett came up with a double-double of 12 points and 13 boards. One thing to know about Penn State is that is shooting the ball so well from deep. The Nittany Lions are sixth in the nation with 39.4 3FG% and they’ve just hit 11 threes on 30 attempts versus Nebraska.
Penn State is 3-0 against the spread in its last three outings.
Betting on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (ODDS)
Record: 13-6 Overall/5-3 Conference
Rutgers is looking to rebound after a 70-57 loss in East Lansing at the hands of the Michigan State Spartans last Thursday. The Scarlet Knights Knights did not see action over the weekend, so they will be very well-rested, much more than Penn State when they take the court this Tuesday. Plus, they will be playing at home, where they last won a game. Rutgers beat Ohio State on Jan. 15th at home via overtime, 68-64. That’s a huge win for Rutgers that should remind anyone that the Scarlet Knights are a dangerous team to face for any team. Steve Pikielli’s team, people should remember, also has wins against the likes of the Purdue Boilermakers and the Hoosiers. Their defense has been elite, one of the best in the nation, as they’re allowing just 57.6 points per game.
Rutgers is 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Rutgers wins, 65-62.
