Golden State Warriors vs Toronto Raptors Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – January 13 2018

The Golden State Warriors are crossing the border this Saturday to play the Toronto Raptors for the second time this season. Kevin Durant has been playing like a juiced up Kevin Durant of late, and he will look to carry the banged-up Warriors to a win against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

Without Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Warriors suffered a rare loss at home Wednesday, when they were beaten by a possessed Lou Williams and the L.A. Clippers, 125-106.  Golden State have dominated the Raptors over the past several meetings between the two teams, so straight-up bettors could feel confident in laying money on Kevin Durant and company. The Warriors have won in all of the last seven meeting with Toronto, which includes their 117-112 victory at home over the Raptors on Oct. 25. Speaking of Durant, he could be left doing most of the heavy lifting for the Warriors should any of Curry and Thompson would be out. Durant is averaging 26.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game this season. He had 29 points versus the Raptors in the aforementioned game last October. The Warriors are pacing the NBA with 115.7 points per game.

Betting on the Toronto Raptors (28-10)

Kyle Lowry is questionable to play this Saturday due to a back injury he sustained a bruised tailbone during Tuesday’s 90-89 loss to the Miami Heat. It would be unfortunate for the Raptors not to have Lowry for Saturday’s showdown with Golden State, especially if the Warriors come into that game without Curry or Thompson. Nevertheless, the Raptors have the pair of Delon Wright and Fred VanVleet to share and absorb Lowry’s minutes in case the veteran point guard will be ultimately ruled out for the contest. DeMar DeRozan, meanwhile, will see a high-usage rate versus Golden State with or without his running mate.
Jonas Valanciunas, Serge Ibaka, and Jakob Poeltl, meanwhile, give the Raptors a tremendous advantage inside. Even without Valanciunas in the October game, the Raptors dominated the shaded area with 54 points in the paint as against Golden State’s 48.

Writer’s Prediction:

This is a bold call, but Toronto will win it, 105-103.
