Betting on the Kansas State Wildcats (19-8)
Kansas State is looking to add to the Sooners’ woes. The Wildcats already have a win against Trae Young and company this season, when they handed Oklahoma an 87-69 loss in Norman back on Jan. 16, when the Sooners were still ranked fourth. Kansas State could be catching the Sooners at a right time again, with Oklahoma seemingly forgetting how to pick up a victory. In the first meeting with Oklahoma, the Wildcats had a field day on offense, as they took advantage of the Sooners’ pathetic defense. Kansas State shot 56.5 percent from the field, and relentlessly hounded the Sooners on defense. The Wildcats’ aggression on defense paid off, as the Sooners connected on jut 41.9 percent of their shots and also committed 20 turnovers. Kansas State allows just 67.6 points per game and forces opponents to turn the ball over 14.6 times per contest.
Kansas State is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games.
Betting on the Oklahoma Sooners (16-11)
The Sooners are going to go as far as where Trae Young takes them, so when the freshman guard scored just 11 points on Monday against Kansas in Lawrence, it was not a surprise that Oklahoma was crumpled and thrown into a flaming dumpster in a 104-74 defeat. Young is still leading the nation with 28.3 points and 9.2 assists per game, but it’s clear that he can’t do it all. In the loss to the Wildcats, Young scored 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting from the field but went just 2-of-10 from the three-point area. He also had a brutal total of 12 turnovers. The Wildcats seemingly had a perfect game plan in that game, and for the Sooners shooting themselves in the foot again with turnovers, they will have to find a way to ease some load off of Young’s shoulders. Oklahoma is third in the nation in scoring 87.0 points per game on 47.1 percent shooting from the floor. They are sinking 9.7 three-pointers per game on 37.0 percent conversion rate.
Oklahoma is 3-1 SU in its last four home games against the Wildcats.
Writer’s Prediction:
Kansas State wins, 78-73.
