Betting on the Nevada Wolfpack (26-5)

Nevada is on a hot surge right now. It has extended its win streak to six games following a 101-75 if UNLV on the road Wednesday.  A pair of Martins teamed up for the Wolf Pack, as Cody Martin exploded for 26 points to go with nine rebounds, while leading scorer Caleb Martin was not too shabby with his 19 points and eight rebounds contributions. These performances are scary for San Diego, which absorbed an 83-75 loss against Nevada on Feb. 10, even though Caleb and Cody scored a combined output of 19 points only. With the two coming off great games, the Aztecs could be in for a bigger trouble this Saturday. Caleb Martin leads the Wolf Pack with 19.4 points per game, while Cody Martin chips in 13.6. As a team, the Wolf Pack are scoring 83.3 points per game and makes 9.7 three-pointers per contest. They had 11 in the win over San Diego.

Betting on the San Diego State Aztecs (18-10)

Just like Nevada, the Aztecs are rolling of late. San Diego State has gone 5-0 SU in its last five games, covering the spread in four of those outings. The Aztecs most recently won on Tuesday at home against Boise State in a game in which they held the Broncos to just 39.6 field goal shooting percentage. The Aztecs value defense, which is why they are allowing opposing teams to only 68.4 points per game. To upset the Wolf Pack, though, San Diego State likely needs to rule the glass. The Aztecs were outworked on the rebounding battle by Nevada in the first meeting, 42-35, even though the Aztecs average more rebounds per game than the Wolf Pack. They are 64th nationally with 37.6 rebounds per game. Malik Pope tops San Diego State in scoring with 12.7 points per game, but only had nine in the loss to Nevada.

Writer’s Prediction
