Betting on the Colorado State Rams (odds)

Record: 12-15 Overall/4-10 Conference

Colorado State is having a bit more success lately, as the Rams have won two of their last three games. After losing to the Boise State Broncos at home last Wednesday, the Rams recovered with a 60-57 road win against the Fresno State Bulldogs, 77-65. Isaiah Stevens showed the way for the Rams against Fresno State, as he scored a team-high 17 points, while Patric Cartier provided 13 points. The Rams are going to need more than just those two putting up good numbers to beat San Diego State. In the first meeting this season with the Aztecs, the Rams had five players scoring in double figures, albeit in an 82-76 overtime home loss last January.

Colorado State has covered the spread in each of its last three outings.

Betting on the San Diego State Aztecs (odds)

Record: 21-5 Overall/12-2 Conference

San Diego State is the best team in the MWC, and it’s not hard to see why. The Aztecs have lost just twice in conference play and haven’t lost back-to-back against their rivals in the league. In their last outing, the Aztecs escaped with a 45-43 road win against Fresno State last Saturday – San Diego State’s fourth win in a row. The Aztecs didn’t shoot well against Fresno State, making only 32.7 FG% but they made sure the Bulldogs weren’t going to be better than them on that end of the floor. On the season, San Diego State is second in the MWC in adjusted defensive efficiency (99.1).

San Diego State is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

San Diego State wins, 78-63.
