Duke had to work extra hard on its offense against the tight defense of Syracuse. The Blue Devils shot just 30.3 percent from the field and only 5-for-26 from behind the arc. Lucky for Duke, the Orange did not have an answer for Marvin Bagley III, who had 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting to go with eight eight rebounds. This game shows just how hard it is to bring down Duke, as the Blue Devils just have so many capable weapons that it’s almost impossible to shut them down altogether. Duke should have an easier time scoring the ball against Kansas, which allowed 77.5 points in their last two games.
Back in the regular season, Duke was third nationally with an average of 84.9 points per game.

Kansas is headed to the Elite 8 after surviving the challenge of Clemson in the Sweet 16 round with an 8-76 win. As usual, somebody in the backcourt led the Jayhawks, and this time, it’s Malik Newman who had 17 points with four three-pointers. Speaking of which, the Jayhawks’ three-point shooting continues to be hot, as they buried 10 threes against Clemson. So far in this tournament, Kansas has drilled 26 triples. Moreover, the Jayhawks have not shot poorer than 41.2 percent from long distance in any of their last three games. Udoka Azubuike is going to play big role in slowing down Bagley. Azubuike had 14 points and 11 rebounds against Clemson. Kansas finished the regular season 18th in the nation in three-pointers made per game with 10.0 on a 40.3 percent accuracy.
