Betting on the Cleveland Cavaliers (+2.5)
LeBron James did LeBron James things on Friday because he had to. The four-time league MVP dropped 46 points on the Celtics in Game 6, shooting 17-for-33 from the field and adding 11 rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and a block in 46 minutes of greatness. Needless to say, The King will have to come up with another huge performance this Sunday in Boston, especially with Kevin Love unlikely to play in Game 7 due to a concussion. Love played in only five minutes on Friday before getting taken out for good. After Game 6’s win, LeBron is now averaging 33.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in the playoffs. Should Love get ultimately ruled for the next game, expect Jeff Green to get a spot start. Green scored 14 points and had three rebounds in 31 minutes off the bench. Larry Nance Jr. also showed up by knocking all his five shots from the field for 10 points.
The Cavs are 5-5 ATS in their last 10 road games.
Betting on the Boston Celtics (-2.5)
The Celtics are a different animal when they’re at home than when they’re away from Boston this postseason. In fact, the Celtics are 10-0 SU and 10-0 ATS. They will put those unblemished records on the line this Sunday in Game 7 against the Cavs. For that to happen, Boston likely need Al Horford to resurface after missing in Game 6 in which the big man only had six points despite not having to deal with Kevin Love for most of the contest. Horford, however, has played well the last time at home, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in 35 minutes in Game 5. If the Cavs won’t have Love, that would most likely mean another win in the rebounding battle for Boston. The Celtics had 13 more rebounds than Cleveland in Game 6. Terry Rozier paced the Celtics with 28 points but tweaked his ankle in the second half. That said, it doesn’t seem serious enough for him to miss Game 7.
Writer’s Prediction:
Honestly surprised to see that the sportsbook favors the Celtics in this one. Cleveland wins, 101-97 and sends James to yet another NBA Finals.
