Alabama Crimson Tide vs LSU Tigers Predictions, Picks, Odds and NCAA Football Betting Preview – November 3 2018

Waiting for the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide to lose this season is getting tiring, but the team is set what could be their toughest matchup to date, as they take on the No. 4 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. Will the Crimson Tide extend their win streak and maintain their immaculate record? Or will it be the other way around?

At press, NCAAF Futures favor Alabama with -250 odds to win the 2019 College Football Championship while LSU is priced at +3500 to pull off the same (and unlikely) feat.

Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0 Overall / 5-0 Conference)

The Crimson Tide are as dominant as they are boring. They like to blow their opponents out of the water early in games, leaving little for spectators to be excited about. The Tennessee Volunteers could attest to that, as they received a 58-21 beating at the hands of Alabama last weekend. Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had another smooth performance, as he passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns with none of his passes landing in opponents’ hands. On the season Tagovailoa has 2,066 passing yards and 25 touchdowns with zero interceptions. Defensively, there’s little Nick Saban could ask for more from his boys. Alabama is seventh in the nation with just 15.9 points and 309.2 total yards allowed per game. The Crimson Tide are also tops in the SEC in sacks with 26.0

Alabama is 8-2 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in its last 10 meetings with the Tigers.

Betting on the LSU Tigers (7-1 Overall / 4-1 Conference)

Speaking of defense, the Tiger are not too shabby when it comes to it. In fact, just last weekend, they showed how capable they are in shutting down a high-quality opponent’s attack by defeating the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 19-3. The Bulldogs are averaging 22.0 points and 373 total yards per game, but were held to just one field goal and 260 total yards by LSU, which sent a strong message to Alabama with that defensive performance in Baton Rouge. Although Tagovailoa has yet to be intercepted this season, his clean sheet could be in danger of getting sullied by LSU’s defense that leads the SEC in interceptions with 14. That includes the four picks they got off Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald. LSU is also 11th in the nation with 17.3 points allowed per contest.

LSU is 3-0 ATS in its last three home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Alabama wins, 31-21 and extends their undefeated status while continuing to clear a path to the College Football Championship.
