Betting on the Princeton Tigers (+10.0)
Record: 23-8 Overall/10-4 Conference
Princeton just keeps on believing. The Tigers prevented people from crossing their name out on the bracket with another stunner in the second round, beating the Missouri Tigers, 78-63. Princeton outworked Mizzou on the glass and got rewarded for it. By the end of the game, Princeton had 44 rebounds to just 30 by Missouri. Ryan Langborg led the Ivy League school with 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Blake Peters had 17 off the bench. Peters is averaging just 5.9 points per game but showed that Princeton is more than just about Langborg and Tosan Evbuomwan by having such a performance.
Princeton, which also hit 12 3-pointers versus Mizzou, is 4-0 against the spread in its last four games in the NCAA tournament.
Betting on the Creighton Bluejays (-10.0)
Record: 23-12 Overall/14-6 Conference
Creighton must love this matchup against the Tigers. The Bluejays seriously feel that while Princeton is riding a wave of momentum when it comes down to play on the court, they will have most of the advantages. For one, Creighton’s size should cause issues for the Tigers. Creighton has 7-1 Ryan Kalkbrenner, who is also leading the Bluejays with 15.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Princeton’s starting center, Evbuomwan, only stands 6-8. Princeton dealt with a big team in the first round when it shocked the Arizona Wildcats, but this Bluejays team plays at a high level on both ends of the floor. The Bluejays are 23rd national in AdjO and 13th in AdjD, per KenPom.
Creighton is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Creighton wins, 81-61.
