Not even Michael Myers showing up at their doorsteps could terrify Buffalo Bills fans more than seeing Nathan Peterman start for their team. But that could be the case again in Week 10 if Derek Anderson and Josh Allen can’t give it a go. As for the New York Jets, their rookie quarterback, Sam Darnold, isn’t injured, but his play is obviously hurting. Who wins between these two struggling NFL franchises? The Jets are +25,000 to win the AFC, while the Bills are +100,000 to pull it off.

Betting on the Buffalo Bills (2-7)
Nathan Peterman imploded again under center for Buffalo in last week’s 41-9 home loss to the Chicago Bears, throwing for just 189 yards (31/49) with zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Peterman might start again in Week 10, as rookie quarterback Josh Allen has not yet been cleared to play due to an elbow injury. That said, Derek Anderson (concussion) could prevent that from happening even if Allen isn’t available yet provided that the journeyman QB gets a green light to play. At any rate, Anderson is a better choice, though, the Bills might look to run the ball more than leave the offense mostly in the hands of their inept passing attack. The Bills’ backfield isn’t sexy either, but it has LeSean McCoy, who leads the team’s ground attack that averages 97.2 rushing yards per game. The Bills can also get the job done on defense, contrary to what their opponents’ scores suggest. Back in their Week 8 25-6 home loss to the Patriots, the Bills held the Pats down to only 12 points in the first three quarters.
The under is 4-0 in the Bills’ last four road games.
Betting on the New York Jets (3-6)
The Jets submerged themselves yet again in another embarrassing loss, absorbing a 13-6 defeat at the hands of the Miami Dolphins on the road last Sunday. It was not the most memorable of days for rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who looked as though he did not belong in the NFL, passing for 229 yards with no touchdowns against four interceptions. He was also sacked four times for a loss of 27 yards. It was total nightmare for Darnold and the Jets’ offense as a whole. The Jets can’t cure their ills on offense in just a week, but in a game this against another team that also struggles mightily to score, it’s likely not going to take such a dramatic improvement from Darnold for New York to keep in step and beat Buffalo. The Jets’ defense should be able to do a solid job of containing Buffalo’s offense. The Jets are a respectable eighth in the NFL with opponents completing just 62.31 percent of their passes against New York. The Jets are also 13th with only 242.4 passing yards allowed per game.
The Jets are 2-1 ATS in their last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Jets win, 20-17.
