Betting on the Michigan Wolverines (10-1 Overall / 8-0 Conference)

The Wolverines are headed to the last weekend of the regular season with still an unblemished record after defeating the Indiana Hoosiers are home last Sunday, 31-20. Although the Wolverines faltered a bit defensively, their poise and decidedly better overall talent were enough to keep the gritty Hoosiers at bay. The Wolverines were still able to make back-breaking plays on defense to offset some of their lapses on defense. They forced Indiana to commit two turnovers. Michigan entered the Hoosier game second in the nation with only 12.9 points allowed per game and tops overall in scoring defense with just 219.8 total yards per contest. Their pass defense will be a huge factor, as Michigan’s top-ranked stop unit against the pass will be put to the test for the last time this season against the arm of Buckeyes’ flamethrower Dwayne Haskins.

The Wolverines, who allowed just 195 passing yards to Indiana, is 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five meetings with Ohio State. On the road so far this season, Michigan is 3-1 straight up (SU) and 1-3 ATS.

Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (10-1 Overall / 7-1 Conference)

Check out the big arm of Dwayne Haskins. The sophomore gunslinger threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns against just an interception in an exhilarating 52-51 win over the Maryland Terrapins on the road. But let’s not forget about Haskins’ ground exploits, as he ran for 59  rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 15 carries. In other words, Haskins nearly transformed into a mythical creature, though, he’s likely going to find it a whole lot more difficult to find gaps to run through and get more time in the pocket against the unforgiving Michigan defense. Having said that, Haskins has been impressive for most of the season that he can’t simply be underestimated even in a game against Michigan. Haskins has four games this season in which he had at least 400 passing yards. As for the team, the Buckeyes are averaging over 40 points per game this season on the strength of a passing attack that pumps out 354.9 yards per game entering Week 12 – third most prolific in the FBS.

Ohio State is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS when playing in Columbus.

Writer’s Prediction

Michigan takes care of business on the road and puts together a win to cover, 28-24.
