Betting on the Indiana Hoosiers (12-2 Overall / 3-0 Conference)
Indiana likes to put its fans in near cardiac arrest experiences. The Hoosiers have four wins this season by combined eight points. They’ve also won two conference games by a mere total of four points. Don’t say that they’re flukes, though, as they are legitimately benefiting from the play of their dynamic duo in freshman Romeo Langford and senior Juwan Howard. The two were too much to handle for the Illinois Fighting Illini in a 73-65 home win on Jan. 3. Langford led the way for the Hoosiers with 28 points, while Morgan stuffed the stat sheets with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and a block. Indiana’s offense is hard to stop because its players are discipline in choosing their shots, thus their a high collective shooting percentage of 52.6 – second best in the nation. The Hoosiers are arguably even better defensively despite two reliable scoring threats. Indiana is 32nd in the nation with just 64.1 points per game.
The Hoosiers are 4-3 ATS in their last seven road games.
Betting on the Michigan Wolverines (14-0 Overall / 3-0 Conference)
The Wolverines are the team to beat in the Big Ten. You could even make a case that they’re the top team in the nation. And that’s largely because of their defense that annihilates anything that comes across it. The Wolverines are third in the nation in scoring defense, with just 55.1 points per game allowed. They haven’t given up more than 55 points in any of their past three games. In their last game, the Wolverines defeated the Penn State Nittany Li9ons at home on Jan. 3, 68-55. If there’s a team that could cripple Indiana’s offense, Michigan is a solid bet to be just that. Penn State shot just 42.1 percent from the field and 7.1 percent from deep against Michigan. Offensively, Michigan relies on the three-headed attack of Ignas Brazdeikis, Charles Matthews, and Jordan Poole. Brazdeikis leads the team with 16.4 points per game, while Matthews and Poole are putting up 13.9 and 13.8 per contest, respectively.
The under is 4-0 in the Wolverines’ last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Michigan wins, 70-67.
