The Indiana Hoosiers (+6,000 to win national title) are thirsty for a quality win. The No. 6 Michigan Spartans (+800), on the other hand, are eyeing a rebound from a disappointing loss. Only one of those wishes are going to be granted this Saturday in East Lansing, though. Will the Hoosiers hand Michigan State its second loss in a row? Or will the Spartans send Indiana out of their campus with another L?

Betting on the Indiana Hoosiers (12-8 Overall / 3-6 Conference)
The Hoosiers are still searching for the end of the dark tunnel they are still in. They are hoping they could find it this Wednesday against the Rutgers Scarlet Knight. We don’t know for sure how that game will unfold, but we know that, as of this writing, the Hoosiers are on a six-game losing skid, a stretch that includes their 69-46 home loss to top-five team Michigan Wolverines. Those looking to lay money on the Hoosiers to cover the spread against Michigan State will have to hope that Indiana takes care of its business against Rutgers, because it’s going to need that momentum in East Lansing. Indiana simply just didn’t have it against Michigan, which is understandable because the Wolverines have one of the best defenses in the nation, but the Hoosiers won’t win many games by shooting just 27.6 percent from the field either. They are better than than, though, as they are averaging 72.8 points per game and has a 53.8 effective field goal percentage — 60th nationally.
Indiana is 2-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last three games against the Spartans and 5-1 straight up (SU) in the last six meetings with them.
Betting on the Michigan State Spartans (18-3 Overall / 9-1 Conference)
The Spartans got tripped up by the Purdue Boilermakers on the road, losing in West Lafayette last Sunday, 73-63. It’s the fewest points scored this year or since a 63-59 win in Gainesville against the Florida Gators on Dec. 8. The loss to Purdue could be taken as a small blot on an otherwise excellent offense by Michigan State. That is not to take anything away from Purdue’s effort to contain the Spartans, but Michigan State has been so good offensively for the most part of the season that it’s due to a letdown night like the one they had in the Boilermakers game in which Tom Izzo’s boys shot just 39.3 percent from the field. On the season, the Spartans are 13th in the nation with 82.8 points per game. They are also inside the top 10 in effective field goal shooting percentage (56.8%) and field goal shooting percentage (49.6%). They also have arguably the best point guard in the Big Ten in the form of Cassius Winston, who had 23 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists against Purdue. In the game prior to that, he also had 23 points in an easy road win against the No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes.
Michigan State is 2-0 ATS in its last two games following a loss and 9-1 ATS against conference opponents this season.
Writer’s Prediction
Michigan State wins, 77-69.
