The Michigan State Spartans (+1,200 to win the national title) are hanging by a thread from the top of the Big Ten standings. They have become an extra gritty team of late, as they continue to win games despite key injuries to their roster. Will they continue their winning ways against the Indiana Hoosiers? Or will Indiana (+12,500) beat Michigan State as they did 3 weeks ago? On February 2 the Hoosiers ended a seven-game skid by taking advantage of the Spartans poor foul shooting for a 79-75 victory.

Betting on the Michigan State Spartans (23-5 Overall / 14-3 Conference)
Missing two of their best players, the Spartans still managed to take down No. 7 Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor last weekend, 77-70. It was the Spartans’ five-straight victory and perhaps more importantly, put them in a solo place atop the Big Ten standings – at least as of this writing. The Spartans have been a reliable team against the spread this season, especially when they are coming off wins. They are 20-8 ATS overall this season and 17-5 ATS in games following a victory. The Spartans will next look to return the favor to Indiana, which beat them in East Lansing earlier this month in overtime, 79-75. Guard Cassius Winston paced the Spartans in that game, scoring 26 points to go with eight rebounds and seven assists. The Spartans will not have Nick Ward and Joshua Langford in the rematch due to injuries.
The Spartans, who are 22nd in the nation with 80.2 points per game, are 8-4 against the spread (ATS) on the road this season.
Betting on the Indiana Hoosiers (13-14 Overall / 4-12 Conference)
The Hoosiers have been one of the most disappointing teams in the nation this season. They will enter Tuesday’s meeting with the Wisconsin Badgers on the heels of five straight losses, including a heartbreaking overtime defeat at the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes last Saturday, 76-70. Whatever happens in that game, though, the Hoosiers will carry with them some measure of a psychological advantage in the rematch with the Spartans, having beaten Michigan State before. Indiana pulled off that mild upset against the Spartans despite not having big man Juwan Morgan for most of that game due to injury. Morgan is now healthy, though, so that’s a big plus for the Hoosiers, who are getting 15.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game from the senior. Freshman guard Romeo Langford, meanwhile, dropped 19 points and delivered in the clutch in the win against the Spartans, and he’ll be looking to provide the same effort this coming weekend.
The Hoosiers are 2-0 ATS in their last two games at home against Michigan State.
Writer’s Prediction
Michigan State wins, 72-64.
