The Oklahoma Sooners will not be moving the needle much in terms of their status in the AP Poll ranking despite a win over the weekend. That’s largely because of the quality of their opponent. The Sooners will have another light opposition this coming weekend, but they can’t afford to lose to the Kansas State Wildcats, who will do everything in its own power to slay a giant in Manhattan.

Betting on the Oklahoma Sooners (7-0 Overall / 4-0 Conference)
The deeper the season gets, the bigger the case Jalen Hurts is making for his Heisman Trophy chances. The Sooners quarterback, who transferred from the Alabama Crimson Tide program, had yet another sparkling performance last Saturday. Hurts passed for 316 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He also rushed for a couple of touchdowns to go with 75 rushing yards on 10 carries in a dominant 52-14 home win over the West Virginia Mountaineers. Oklahoma’s defense has also gotten better of late to complement the astounding job HUrts and company are doing on the offensive side of the ball. The Sooners limited West Virginia to only 242 total yards, including a measly total of 52 rushing yards.
The Sooners are 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games. They are also 9-1 straight up (SU) in their last 10 outings overall, dating back to the last season.
Betting on the Kansas State Wildcats (4-2 Overall / 1-2 Conference)
For the first time this month, the Wildcats earned a victory, thanks to their 24-17 win at home over the TCU Horned Frogs. The Wildcats needed a late-game touchdown drive to get the victory, with Skylar Thompson ending an 11-play drive in the fourth quarter with a short three-yard dash to the end zone to break a 17-17 tie. Thompson finished the game with 172 passing yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-23 completions, and also rushed for 68 yards.Kansas State’s defense, however, allowed 228 rushing yards to the Horned Frogs, which wasn’t a good look for their chances in stopping Hurts and the Sooners’ defense. In any case, the victory gave the Wildcats a much-needed boost heading into a tough matchup against Oklahoma.
The Wildcats are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games at home.
Writer’s Prediction
The Sooners win, 43-13.
