Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5)

The fight that erupted near the end of the Steelers-Cleveland Browns game last week shouldn’t hide the fact that Pittsburgh’s offense was terrible in that game. Mason Rudolph passed for 221 yards and a touchdown – with four interceptions. He was also sacked four times for a loss of 43 yards. It didn’t help Pittsburgh that running back James Conner wasn’t around due to a shoulder injury. Conner is reportedly still labelled as questionable for Week 12, but with or without him, the Steelers should still be able to find away to have success on the ground against Cincinnati’s porous defense. But Rudolph could also used the rematch with the Bengals to bounce back. Going back to Week 4, Rudolph went 24 for 28 for 229 passing yards and two touchdowns without an interception in a 27-3 home win. If Conner can’t go, Jaylen Samuels, who scored a rushing touchdown in the first meeting with the Bengals, will lead the Steelers’ ground attack.

The Steelers are 2-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last three games.

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (0-10)

Not much is expected of Cincinnati this season, but the Bengals did play better than usual in Week 11 during their 17-10 loss to the Oakland Raiders on the road. The Bengals were within striking distance even in the fourth quarter, where the difference between a good team and a bad team just manifested and spelled the outcome of the contest. Ryan Finley passed for 115 yards and zero touchdowns with an interception on 13-of-31 completions, while Joe Mixon rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Mixon still has plenty left, and he might have to carry more load on offense with the Bengals suffering yet another injury to their receiving corps. Wide receiver Auden Tate suffered a concussion and a cervical strain in the loss to Oakland and is very much likely to miss Week 12. That means Tyler Boyd has to step it up after recording just a catch on three targets.

The over is 7-2-1 in Cincy’s last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Steelers win, 24-16.
