The Kansas Jayhawks are back on top of the Big 12 regular season. After seeing their streak of regular-season title wins end last year, the Jayhawks went on a torrid stretch to recapture the Big 12 regular-season championship again. Will that translate to success in the conference tourney, though?

Betting on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (18-14 Overall / 7-11 Conference)
The Cowboys are not done. Their win streak has translated into the Big 12 tournament, as they extended their unbeaten run to four games after getting past the Iowa State Cyclones in the first round of the conference tourney with a 72-71 win. The Cowboys got a big boost from Isaac Likekele, who led the team with 21 points and nine assists to go with three steals and a block in a terrific two-way performance. The Cowboys need more than just Likekele to have that kind of showing in its upcoming matchup with Kansas, which had beaten them soundly in each of the past two meetings between these teams this season. The Cowboys will help themselves by cutting down on their errors. They had 13 turnovers in the win over the Cyclones and 15 in their ugly 83-58 loss to the Jayhawks in Lawrence back in February. But the Cowboys’ current hot stretch took off right after that loss, so expect them to be fiercer and more polished this time around against Kansas.
The Cowboys are 6-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games.
Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks (28-3 Overall / 17-1 Conference)
Kansas ended its regular-season campaign with a 66-62 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock last Saturday. It was a great test for Bill Self’s team, which should have the Jayhawks’ up on their toes than being lax heading into March Madness. The Jayhawks are fortunate to have the pair of Udoka Azubuike and Devon Dotson, who take care of business inside and outside, especially on offense. Against the Red Raiders, Azubuike generated a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Dotson had 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. This combo has proven to be too much to handle for Kansas opponents, who have been brushed aside one by one during the Jayhawks’ current 16-game win streak. But the Jayhawks are also a solid defensive team, arguably even better on that end of the floor than on offense. The Jayhawks are second in KenPom in terms of defensive efficiency and sixth nationally with just 60.6 points allowed per game.
The Jayhawks are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games.
Writer’s Prediction
Kansas wins, 79-67.
