Betting on Roosevelt Roberts (-300)

MMA Record: 9-1-0

Roberts will enter Saturday’s fight looking to build another win streak. After absorbing the first loss of his MMA career at the hands of Vinc Pinchel in June of 2019, Roberts put on an impressive performance and tucked on a unanimous decision win over Alexander Yakovlev in November of the same year. In four fights so far in the UFC, Roberts has shown much potential to become a title challenger one day, going 3-1 in those bouts, including a submission win against Darrell Horcher in The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale back in 2018. Roberts has a fantastic against takedowns, as he owns a 100 percent takedown defense so far in his UFC career. The fighter out of Adrenaline Combat Sports team has a 3-0 knockout record and a 4-0 submission slate. Roberts also seems to have the cardio that’s very much capable of handling long fights, with all of his last three fights going the distance.

Betting on Brok Weaver (+220)

MMA Record: 15-4-0

You have to go back to 2016 to find the last fight in which Weaver lost. Since absorbing a loss at the hands of Martin Brown in Titan FC 41: Damm vs Faria, Weaver has stitched together eight wins in a row. It’s worth noting, however, that two of those victories were a result of opponents’ disqualifications. Weaver turned heads when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Devin Smythe back in his days in Dana White’s Contender Series. After that, he made his UFC debut and received a win after Kazula Vargas was disqualified for an illegal knee. Weaver is powered by a seemingly bottomless well of energy, as he constantly moves and shifts to deflect strikes from his opponents. Weaver is also tough as nails, which you could tell from the fact that he formerly competed in Bare Knuckle Fighting.

Writer’s Prediction

Roberts earns a split decision win.
