The Clippers are coming off a surprising 129-120 loss to the Brooklyn Nets last Sunday, but it’s not something that the team is losing sleep over with. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers in that game with 39 points, shooting 14 of 25 from the field while also dishing out six assists and making four steals. Leonard had to so much primarily because Paul George took a rest after playing close to 30 minutes in the previous game against the Portland Trail Blazers. George and Leonard, however, are likely to see action against the Nuggets. A win on Wednesday would secure the Clippers the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. In five games inside Disney World, the Clippers have managed to average 121.8 points on 48.9 field goal shooting percentage.
The Clippers are also 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games.
Betting on the Denver Nuggets (odds)
Regular Season Record: 46-25
The Nuggets lost to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, thanks to Kyle Kuzma’s game-winning 3-pointer that dealt Denver a 124-121 loss. It’s not the end of the world for Denver, which gave its second-unit players a lot of playing time, especially in the fourth quarter. It spoke a lot about how much these games in Orlando matter to the Nuggets, who are merely gearing up for the playoffs. However, like the Clippers, the Nuggets are still in the running for the No. 2 spot in the West. Against the Lakers, PJ Dozier led the Nuggets with 18 points off the bench, while Michael Porter Jr. started and finished with 15 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting from the field and a 3-for-3 from behind the arc. Denver’s second unit also stepped up in a 114-104 win at home over the Clippers on Jan. 11. Porter, Torrey Craig, and Monte Morris scored 36 of the Nuggets’ 43 bench points as against to just 33 by the Clippers. The Nuggets are scoring 121.3 points per game this August.
The Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.
Writer’s Prediction
