It’s getting worse for Jacksonville. The Jaguars suffered their fourth loss in a row last Sunday, as they fell prey to the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, 33-25. Obviously, the Jags’ defense has been a big problem for the team, which among the reasons why even during games in which Gardner Minshew is doing well, the team still couldn’t pull off a win. That was the case against the Bengals, wherein Minshew threw for 351 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 27-of-40 completions. Minshew clearly enjoyed having wide receiver DJ Chark back downfield, as they hooked up for two touchdowns. Chark missed Week 3 with an injury, but he’s now looking healthy to challenge Houston’s defense that’s giving up 31.5 points per game. Another Jag who could enjoy facing the Texans’ defense is rookie running back James Robinson. The Texans have the worst run defense in the entire NFL, as they are allowing 181.8 rushing yards per contest. Last week, it got torched for 162 rushing yards and three touchdowns by the Minnesota Vikings’ ground attack.

The Jags are 5-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games away from home.

Betting on the Houston Texans (-6)

Regular Season Record: 0-4

The search for their first win of the season continues for the Texans, who are coming off a 31-23 home loss to the Vikings last Sunday. That loss was the final straw for Bill O’Brien’s tenure as head coach and general manager of Houston, as he was instantly fired after the game. The Texans have not named a replacement, temporary or permanent, for O’Brien, so there’s probably lots of confusion for the team as of the moment. However, that could also spark the Texans to right their ship. Perhaps a change of head coach will do wonders for the Texans, though, whether Houston kept or fired O’Brien, the Jags are always going to be a beatable team. DeShaun Watson can take advantage of Jacksonville’s defense that just gave up 505 total yards to the Bengals last week. The Jags are also giving up 399.5 yards and 29.3 points per game, so far this season.

The Texans are 8-2 straight-up in their last 10 games at home against the Jaguars.

Writer’s Prediction

The Jags win, 29-27.
