Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (odds)

Regular Season Record: 8-1

Since losing to the Raiders, 40-32, at home in Week 5, the Chiefs have racked up five wins in a row. They are coming off a bye in Week 10, but before that, they made sure to subdue the Carolina Panthers at home in Week 9, 33-31. Patrick Mahomes played like an MVP against the Panthers, as he completed 30 of 45 passes for 372 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. Travis Kelce made sure his fantasy owners had a fun day during that game, as he ended up with 159 receiving yards on 10 catches and 12 targets. Kelce will once again be a huge threat to the Raiders’ defense this week. In the first meeting with Las Vegas this season, Kelce went off for 108 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight catches, while Tyreek Hill finished with 78 receiving yards on just three catches. The Chiefs just have plenty of weapons downfield who can make huge plays. And with Sammy Watkins expected to return this week after missing four games, the Raiders’ defense could have a hard time tracking them all. The Raiders’ pass defense is just 25th against the pass and 21st in terms of DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average).

The Chiefs are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games.

Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (odds)

Regular Season Record: 6-3

The Raiders are on a cruise themselves, having won all of their last three games. They are 4-1 in their last five, with the lone blemish being their 45-20 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In their last game, the Raiders mauled the Denver Broncos in a 37-12 home win in Week 10. Las Vegas’ much-maligned defense showed some life against the Broncos, as the Raiders came away with four defensive interceptions and five forced turnovers. Granted that it was against a turnover-prone Broncos, that performance should have given the Raiders a needed confidence-booster ahead of the rematch with the high-scoring Kansas City. The Chiefs’ offensive line is also going to miss key pieces in Week 11, with Mitchell Schwartz , Eric Fisher, and Martinas Rankin all out, leaving Mahomes a weaker pass protection. Derek Carr is looking to have a big game again when he meets the Chiefs for the second time this season. Carr aired out 347 yards and three touchdowns with only an interception on 22-of-31 completions in Week 5, while running back Josh Jacobs rushed for 77 yard and two touchdowns on 23 carries.

The Raiders are 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 games as the home team.

Writer’s Prediction

The Chiefs win, 34-24.
