As usual, Aaron Rodgers got the job for the Packers. The future Hall of Famer went 27/35 for 274 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in Green Bay’s 24-10 home win over the Washington Football Team in Week 7. Rodgers can have success against any team, as he’s proven over and over again in his career. But on a short week, the Packers might get the rushing attack a bigger load to carry. The good thing for Green Bay is that it’s got Aaron Jones, one of the best running backs in the game today. Jones should come into Thursday’s game fresh, considering he didn’t need to do a lot against Washington. He rushed just six times for 19 yards and caught all five targets for 20 yards.
The Packers are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games. The under is 4-0 in Green Bay’s last four games overall.
Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (-3.5)
Regular Season Record: 7-0
Arizona is coming into this big game against the Packers still undefeated. The Cardinals used Week 7’s game against the Houston Texans as a warmup of sorts for the Thursday Night Football game in Week 8 versus the Packers. Kyler Murray went 20/28 for 261 yards and three touchdowns with an interception against the Texans. Tight end Zach Ertz looked fully acclimated to the Cardinals’ offense, as he led the team with 66 receiving yards to go with a touchdown on three catches in his first game in Cardinals threads. Murray has plenty of elite options to throw at downfield, with Ertz joining DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green, and Christian Kirk. The Cards also have two starter-quality tailbacks in Chase Edmonds and James Conner. In other words, Green Bay’s defense will likely be tested like it’s never been since Week 1’s shocking loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The Cardinals are 2-0 against the spread in their last two home games. The over is 6-4 in their last 10 as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals win, 27-24.
