Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (+4.0)
Regular Season Record: 3-4
The Cardinals’ defense made a number of highlight defensive plays in the win over New Orleans, including two picks that they took to the house. That’s the kind of opportunistic defense Arizona should have this coming Sunday against the Vikings, whose starting quarterback – Kirk Cousins – already has five interceptions against just nine touchdown passes this season, thus far. And while Minnesota is coming off an extra full week of rest, the Cardinals should be nearly just as fresh as the Vikings, as Arizona played the Saints on a Thursday.
The Cardinals are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games.
Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (-4.0)
Regular Season Record: 5-1
The Vikings’ offense is still not performing up to par when considering the overall talent of the team, but they are still getting the job done. Minnesota is 14th in the league this season so far with 23.2 points per game and 19th with 339.8 total yards per game. The Vikings are also one of the top touchdown producers in the NFL with 2.7 TDs per game. Cousins has shortcomings as a quarterback, but with Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen as his primary targets downfield, Minnesota’s air attack is always going to be a tough challenge for opposing secondaries. Arizona showed life against the pass in Week 7, but it still allowed Andy Dalton to throw for four touchdowns.
The Over is 3-1 in the Vikings’ last four games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Vikings win, 30-26.
