The Dallas Cowboys are rolling, but will they keep it going when they face the Denver Broncos at home? The Broncos are back to their winning ways after ending a long losing streak and will arrive in Dallas in search of another W. Check out our preview of this game below.
The Broncos are coming off a 17-10 home win over the Washington Football Team in Week 8, which also put a stop to Denver’s four-game losing streak. Denver quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went 19/26 for 213 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. Running back Melvin Gordon rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. The Broncos need to protect Bridgewater better after their offensive line allowed four sacks to Washington. Given how dangerous Dallas’ secondary is, the Broncos have to give their quarterback a cleaner pocket. The Broncos’ defense, meanwhile, is statistically one of the best in the NFL. In fact, the Broncos are second in scoring defense with just 17.1 points allowed per game and sixth in total defense with only 325.8 total yards surrendered per outing.
The Broncos are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
Even without Dak Prescott, the Cowboys managed to come away with a 20-16 road win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. Prescott is expected to suit up and play this coming Sunday at home against the visiting Broncos, but if he gets ruled out, the Cowboys are confident in Cooper Rush’s abilities. After all, Rush racked up 325 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 24/40 completions against the Vikings. Either way, the Cowboys have plenty of scary weapons downfield for whoever their starter will be. CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, Cedrick Wilson, and Dalton Schultz are all threats against Denver’s secondary that might not be at its 100 percent due to injuries. Then there’s the potential of Michael Gallup making his way back after being out for weeks because of a calf issue.
The Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games as a favorite.
