The Cowboys did not last more than a game in last season’s playoffs, but they are still projected to be a force to reckon with in the NFC. With Dak Prescott having some new weapons around him, the Cowboys’ offense could be lethal once again. Last season, the Cowboys were tops in the NFL with 30.4 points per game and second with 401.4 total yards per outing. Gone are the likes of wide receivers Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson, but they drafted a stud wideout in Jalen Tolbert and have been seeing a tantalizing performance in the training camp from second-year WR Simi Fehoko. Expect those two to see the field this Saturday, regardless of who takes the snap under center for Dallas. The team also added via the draft second-round defensive end Sam Williams, who broke the school’s single-season sack record in 2021.
The Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 road games.
Betting on the Denver Broncos (-3)
Regular Season Record: 0-0
The biggest story in the offseason for the Broncos is no other than their Russell Wilson sweepstakes win. However, Wilson can just let his backups in Josh Johnson and Brett Rypien take care of most of the business under center in the preseason. The Broncos know what they have in Wilson, but they still don’t seem to have a final answer on who will be their QB2, so Johnson and Rypien will continue that battle in the preseason. Meanwhile, the Broncos’ defense offers plenty of intrigue heading into Week 1 of the 2022 NFL preseason, with notable camp performers like Malik Reed, Baron Browning, and rookie Nik Bonitto, all of whom are assets for Denver’s stop unit that allowed opponents to only 18.9 points per game in 2021.
The Over is 5-1 in the Broncos’ last six Saturday games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Broncos win, 20-14.
