What had just happened to the Bills in Week 9 was everything you need to know about why football is a crazy sport. Up against arguably the worst team in the NFL, the Bills fell prey to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 9-6, on the road. Josh Allen struggled in the pocket, as he was sacked four times and threw a pair of interceptions and zero touchdowns while completing 31 of 47 pass attempts for 264 yards. One simple reason why the Bills should recover right away from that embarrassing loss is that they are going to face another bad team in the form of the Jets. Buffalo can’t lose back to back to the Jags and the Jets, right? The loss to the Jaguars could serve as a wake-up call for the Bills, who are still a very dangerous team to face for any opponent. They have a fourth-ranked scoring offense to go with a top-ranked scoring defense, both of which will be huge problems for the Jets, who struggle on both ends of the field.
The Bills are 5-1-1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
Betting on the New York Jets (+13)
Regular Season Record: 2-6
The Jets came back down to earth in Week 9, as they suffered a 45-30 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Before that, the Jets were feeling good after scoring a huge 34-31 upset victory at home over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8. However, New York has improved quite a lot on offense over its lat two games, during which they scored a total of 64 points. Mike White’s insertion to the starting unit in lieu of rookie Zach Wilson has produced better offensive performance for the Jets, though, his status for Sunday’s game should be closely monitored after he exited the Colts game with a forearm injury. It’s not deemed serious, but if he can’t go, it’s possible that Wilson can start again after missing Weeks 8 and 9 with a knee issue.
The Jets are4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a home underdog.
Writer’s Prediction
Buffalo wins, 37-13.
