Lamar Jackson and the Ravens were not able to escape Week 13 with a win, as they fell prey to the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road, 20-19. Baltimore could have stolen a win at Heinz Field, but a decision to go for the win instead of a kick to tie the game near the end of regulation failed. Nevertheless, the Ravens are clearly still in the playoff picture, heading into the rematch versus the Browns. Baltimore beat the Browns in Week 12 at home, 16-12, despite a messy performance from Jackson. Defense saved the Ravens in that game, as they held Cleveland to only 262 total yards and just 4/14 on third and fourth down opportunities. After failing to catch what could have been the game-winning two-point conversion try against Pittsburgh, tight end Mark Andrews will look to punish Cleveland’s defense again. He had 65 receiving yards and a touchdown on four catches against the Browns in the first meeting with them.
The Ravens are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 road games against Cleveland.
Betting on the Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 6-6
Cleveland is coming off a bye in Week 13 following the aforementioned loss to the Ravens in Week 12. The Browns have had numerous frustrating losses through the years, but that setback at the hands of Baltimore was especially disappointing because Cleveland forced four turnovers and still scored just 10 points. Nevertheless, the Browns’ defense should still feel good at least about its performance in that contest. Cleveland’s stop unit intercepted Jackson four times and sacked him twice. Baker Mayfield and the Browns’ offense just needs to be better. Mayfield went 18/37 for 247 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions in Week 12 against Baltimore, while the combo of Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb combined for just 36 rushing yards on 15 carries. The running back tandem should get more touches this time around, though, considering that the backfield duo is one of the best in the game, regardless of their performance n that loss.
The under is 4-1 in the Browns’ last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Browns win, 24-22.
