Regular Season Record: 5-8
The Seahawks are still alive in the playoff race. They defeated the San Francisco 49rs at home in Week 13 then took care of business the following week to score a 33-13 road victory over the Houston Texans. Now, the Seahawks are looking to make it three in a row when they meet the Rams again on Sunday. Seattle lost to the Rams at home back in Week 5, 26-17, but it should be noted that Russell Wilson was not able to finish that game because of an injured finger. With his hand healed up, Wilson will look to get back at the Rams’ defense. Before he exited that game, he had 152 passing yards and a touchdown and interception on 11/16 completions. The Seahawks are also looking for the continued success of running back Rashaad Penny, who erupted for 137 rushing yards and a couple of touchdowns in the win over the Texans. Another factor favoring Seattle in this rematch is the potential absences of several key players of the Rams due to COVID-19 health safety and protocols.
The Seahawks are 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 games as a road underdog.
Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (-4.5)
Regular Season Record: 8-4
Even without some key pieces, the Rams pulled off a 30-23 road win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14. The Rams were without running back Darrell Henderson and tight end Tyler Higbee. Henderson is currently questionable to play on Sunday, while Higbee has already been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. But wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been added to that list, so he’s expected to be out against the Seahawks. In any case, the Rams should be able to move the chains against the Seahawks given their depth. They still have Sony Michel, Van Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, and of course, Matthew Stafford. The quarterback tossed three touchdowns with zero interceptions and had 287 passing yards on 23/30 completions against the Cardinals. The Seahawks are the worst team in the NFL against the pass, as they are allowing 278.9 passing yards per game.
The Rams enter Week 15 with a 5-1 record against the spread in their last six games against Seattle.
Writer’s Prediction
The Rams win, 24-20.
