The Bills showed zero mercy at all to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional round, beating their AFC East rivals to a tune of a 47-17 score at home. Josh Allen brought out the big guns against the Pats, as he threw for 308 yards and five touchdowns with zero interceptions on 21/25 completions. That was as good as it could get for Buffalo’s offense, considering that the Patriots had the best defense in the league. Allen and the assortment of weapons around him should make Kansas City’s defense shake in fear. Stefon Diggs, Devin Knox, Gabriel Davis are all serious threats downfield, while Devin Singletary and Allen can take advantage on the ground when opposing defenses loosen up. Look for Allen and the Bills’ passing attack to keep having success in the Divisional round against Kansas City’s defense that is just 25th in pass DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average).
The Bills are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last 5 games overall.
Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 12-5
Just like the Bills, Kansas City smoked its opponent in the Wild Card round, as the Chiefs destroyed the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 42-21 home win last Sunday. Patrick Mahomes went 30/39 for 404 passing yards and five touchdowns and an interception. When it comes to moving the chains, the Chiefs have all the weapons they need to gain tons of yards. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are the top two options of Mahomes in the air attack, though Demarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle are also starting to contribute nicely. In fact, Pringle had two touchdown grabs to go with 37 receiving yards on five receptions in the Steelers game. Mahomes will have to sustain his form. He’s thrown quite a lot of interceptions this season. At the end of the day, Mahomes is a talented quarterback with a big arm that can push opposing defense to a corner.
The Chiefs are 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite.
Writer’s Prediction
