Betting on the North Carolina Tar Heels (odds)

Record: 22-8 Overall/14-5 Conference

The Tar Heels are looking to close out the regular strong this coming Saturday in their archenemy’s territory. North Carolina has won all its last four games and in the last outing, defeated the Syracuse Orange at home last Monday, 88-79. Brady Manek showed the way for the Tar Heels with is 22 points, while Caleb Love came off the bench and put up 21 points. North Carolina shot just 40.8 percent from the field but was 14/36 from deep and greatly outrebounded the Orange 44-30, including a 16-14 advantage on the offensive glass. That kind of rebounding was what the Tar Heels missed in their 87-67 home loss to Duke on Feb. 5, with the Blue Devils winning in that department as well, 40-24. Manek was hot in that game, though, scoring 21 points and going 6/10 from deep. The Tar Heels’ outside shooting is to be respected. They are fifth in the ACC with a 37.3 3-point percentage.

North Carolina is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games overall.

Betting on the Duke Blue Devils (odds)

Record: 24-6 Overall/16-3 Conference

Duke has already secured the regular-season title in the ACC, but the Blue Devils definitely wouldn’t want to lose in Coach K’s last game at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday. The Blue Devils are coming off a masterful 86-56 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers in Krzyzewski’s final regular-season road game as head coach of the storied program. Trevor Keels paced Duke with a game-high 33 points, while Paolo Banchero had 21. The two combined for an 8/11 shooting from behind the arc. While that’s an unsustainable shooting accuracy, Keels and Banchero have shown they can light up North Carolina’s perimeter defense when they shot 3/4 and 2/4 from deep, respectively, in the initial meeting with the Tar Heels. Duke’s offense is among the mightiest in the nation, with 80.3 points per game and a 55.8 effective field goal percentage.

The Under is 6-4 in Duke’s last 10 games as the home team.

Writer’s Prediction

Duke wins, 82-70.
