Regular Season Record: 44-38
A rough shooting night for Celtics star Jayson Tatum was too much for Boston to overcome in Game 3, but he is still too good to be slowed down by that kind of forgettable offensive performance. Tatum scored 10 points on a horrid 4/19 shooting from the field. He contributed on the defensive end, though, swatting away five shots in 41 minutes of action. Jaylen Brown and Al Horford were the ones who paced the Celtics, with the former recording 27 points and 12 boards, while the latter surprised with a double-double of his own, scoring 22 to go along with 16 rebounds. Horford has been revving up the old engine in the playoffs in which he is shooting 52.1 percent and making 50 percent of his 3-point shots while also grabbing 9.6 rebounds. Hopefully for the Celtics, Robert Williams will bring more to the table for Boston after being a minus-13 in Game 3.
The Celtics are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last 6 games as an underdog.
Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (-1)
Regular Season Record: 49-33
Sometimes, all a team needs to win tough games is a unicorn, which the Bucks conveniently have in the form of Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak had his way again in Game 3, blasting Boston’s defense with 42 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists while shooting 16/30 from the floor. He also got ample support from Brook Lopez (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Jrue Holiday (25 points, 7 rebounds 3 assists). Antetokounmpo’s gravity is bending Boston’s defense and benefiting the other quality Bucks players around him. That can continue to be a trend in this series, especially if Holiday and Lopez establish their presence early in games. Inside scoring is also being dominated by the Bucks, who put up 52 points in the paint in Game 3.
The Bucks are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last 6 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bucks win, 111-109.
