Betting on the Golden State Warriors (odds)

Regular Season Record: 53-29

The Warriors held tight in Game 4 and came away with a 101-08 win over the Ja Morant-less Memphis squad. Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State with 32 points, though he shot just 10/25 from the floor. It came down to the other Warriors putting together enough contribution to get by Memphis. Klay Thompson was a salty 6/20 from the field and finished with 14 points, but Andre Wiggins, Otto Porter Jr., and Jordan Poole all scored at least 12 points each for the Warriors, who are averaging 115.3 points on 47.9 percent shooting from the field. Wiggins’ defense is also noteworthy, as he had 10 rebounds and some nice stops. The Warriors are an experienced bunch that knows how to close out a series, and that will be put to the test this Wednesday on the road.

The Over is 4-1 in the Warriors’ last 5 games away from home.

Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies (odds)

Regular Season Record: 56-26

You got to give it to the Grizzlies for managing to cover the spread at least in Game 4 despite playing without their best player. Ja Morant remains a big question mark for Game 5, but given the importance of this contest, it won’t be surprising if he tries to play through the pain. If anything, he was on the Grizzlies’ bench in Game 4 and was able to stand on his own, so that’s a wee bit of a cause for some optimism for Memphis. If Morant can’t give it a go, the Grizzlies will turn to Tyus Jones to start as the point guard. Jones had 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in Game 4, but it’s going to take more than an elevated performance from Jones for the Grizzlies to extend the series. Desmond Bane needs to recapture his first-round magic, as he is only averaging 9.5 points in the Warriors series, thus far.

The Grizzlies are 5-0 against the spread in their last 5 home games versus Golden State.

Writer’s Prediction

The Warriors win, 106-100.
