When: Sunday, May 29, 2022, 8:30 PM ET

Line: Boston Celtics (-2.5) vs. Miami Heat (+2.5) – view all 2022-22 NBA lines

TV Broadcast: ESPN

Betting on the Boston Celtics (-2.5)

Regular Season Record: 51-31

The Celtics let a golden opportunity to close out the series at home go, as they lost Game 6 at TD Garden, Friday night, 111-103. Nevertheless, Jayson Tatum remains in top form, as shown by his 30-point performance in Game 6, but that’s only as far as scoring goes, as he also turned the ball over 7 times. Jaylen Brown had 20 points but committed 4 turnovers. Tatum and Brown will always have the ball in their hands a lot, and with Miami’s defense putting targets on their backs, the two stars must be more efficient with the rock, especially down the stretch. While the fact that Boston will have to take a trip to South Beach for another game is definitely infuriating for Ime Udoka and company, the Celtics did win the last time they were at FTX Arena, scoring a 93-80 win there in Game 5.

The Celtics are 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.

Betting on the Miami Heat (+2.5)

Regular Season Record: 52-30

Jimmy Butler took matters into his own hands in Game 6, as he exploded for 47 points on 16/29 shooting from the field. He also had 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals in 46 minutes. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry rebounded from an atrocious 2-game stretch and scored 18 points with 10 assists in 37 minutes in Game 6 to provide ample support for Butler. The Heat needed those two players to step up, especially with Tyler Herro unavailable. Herro missed another game in the series due to a left groin strain that might keep him out again in Game 7. If that would be the case, Max Strus and Victor Oladipo will be getting expanding work again after scoring 13 and 9 points in Game 6, respectively, for the Heat, whose defense really made life hard for Boston in that contest.

The Heat are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Celtics win, 101-98.
