Betting on the New York Giants (+1.5)

Regular Season Record: 0-0

Entering the final season of this current contract with the Giants, quarterback Daniel Jones has a lot of motivation to put together a great performance in the 2022 NFL season. That said, he might not appear at all in this preseason game against the Patriots and instead see more of the backups in Tyrod Taylor and Davis Webb. Jones missed the final six weeks of the last season due to a neck injury, though he is expected to be on the field in Week 1. Where the focus should be at more for the Giants this coming Thursday is on their offensive line and defense. New York’s protection unit has been upgraded in the offseason with the addition of a few vets and drafting a stud in offensive tackle Evan Neal. The defense, meanwhile, got a boost with the addition of linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux, this year’s draft’s fifth pick overall.

The Giants are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 preseason games.

Bet on the NY Giants

Betting on the New England Patriots (-1.5)

Regular Season Record: 0-0

The Patriots are entering Year 2 of the Mac Jones experience, and there’s really no one challenging the former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback for the starting gig in that position in New England. Last season saw the Patriots have a pretty balanced production on both ends of the field, as they were seventh in scoring with 26.6 points per game and third with just 19.4 points surrendered on average. But there will be more pressure now for Jones to deliver the goods, especially as he’s already got a full season’s worth of experience in the pros. And he’s also got some new weapons downfield, including DeVante Parker, who comes over from the Miami Dolphins and is now the top option for the Patriots’ passing attack. Expect a bunch of rookies getting showcased by the Pats in this game against New York, including the likes of running backs Pierre Strong and Kevin Harris plus second-round wideout Tyquan Thornton out of Baylor.

The Patriots are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
