Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (27.5)

Record: 4-0 Overall / 1-0 Conference

The 2022 college football season is already rife with upsets but Georgia was not going to let itself become among the latest Goliaths to fall at the hands of Davids when the Bulldogs staved off the Kent State Golden Flashes in a 39-22 win last Saturday. The Bulldogs entered that game favorites by over 40 points to win but just had a hard time putting away a resilient Golden Flashes squad. It’s probably just more of a hiccup than a sign of a major problem for Georgia, which still racked up nearly 530 total yards in the game while holding the Golden Flashes to only 281. If anything, that win might just serve as a wake-up call for Georgia, which isn’t good news for Mizzou.

Georgia is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Betting on the Missouri Tigers (+27.5)

Record: 2-2 Overall / 0-1 Conference

Missouri failed in its first conference test of the season, losing to the Auburn Tigers on the road last Saturday to the tune of a 17-14 score (overtime). Mizzou struggled with ball security again, as it committed two turnovers, including a lost fumble by running back Nathaniel Peat. Missouri walked into the Auburn game with a negative 1.3 turnover margin per game average and 2.7 giveaways per contest. The Tigers can still fix their turnover issues, and they probably could shock the nation – or at least cover the spread – next week against a Georgia team that just showed some cracks against a lowly Kent State squad.

Missouri is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Georgia wins, 44-13.
