Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (-16)

Record: 4-0 Overall / 1-0 Conference

Who’s going to stop Alabama? The Vanderbilt Commodores are certainly not the answer to that as they got decimated by Nick Saban’s boys in Week 4 in Tuscaloosa, 55-3. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young unloaded 385 passing yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions on 25/36 completions. As a team, Alabama racked up 228 rushing yards and 628 total yards. A Crimson Tide win is one of the surest things in sports, and it’s not difficult to imagine that they will continue their undefeated start to the season against Arkansas. For one, The Crimson Tide are 15-0 straight up in the last 15 meetings overall with Arkansas.

The Crimson Tide are also 6-1 against the spread in their last seven October games.

Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks (+16)

Record: 3-1 Overall / 1-1 Conference

Arkansas started Saturday’s game against the no. 23 Texas A&M Aggies in Arlington like a house on fire, as the Razorbacks zoomed to a 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. That’s basically all the good that you can say about them in that game, with the Aggies coming out on top when it was all said and done, 23-21. Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson had 172 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 12/19 completions and also led his team with 105 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, but a lost fumble in the second period eventually turned out to be a costly one for the Razorbacks, which would have likely dug Texas A&M a deeper hold if not for that Jefferson turnover. Nevertheless, Jefferson showed that he can be so hard to contain because of his dual-threat capabilities. Arkansas’s defense also posted three sacks against Texas A&M. The Razorbacks woke up Saturday fifth in the nation with a high 10.43 defensive sack rate.

Arkansas is 4-1 against the spread in its last 5 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Alabama wins, 40-14.
