Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (odds)

Record: 13-2 Overall/3-0 Conference

The Crimson Tide continued their winning ways Saturday, with Alabama extending its undefeated run to four games after beating the Kentucky Wildcats at home in blowout fashion, 78-52. Alabama’s pesky defense made life extremely hard for the Wildcats, who shot just 28.8 percent from the field and only 5/20 from behind the arc. It’s just so tough to get into a rhythm against Alabama, which is holding opponents down to just 41.9 eFG% – fourth-best in the nation. The Crimson Tide are also ninth in Division I with only 89.2 points allowed per 100 possessions. But don’t ever sleep in their offense as well, as Alabama is top 10 in the nation with 83.3 points per game going into the matchup versus Kentucky.

Alabama is 3-0 against the spread in its last three games overall.

Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks (odds)

Record: 12-3 Overall/1-2 Conference

Just when it looked like the Razorbacks were back on track after winning over the Missouri Tigers on Jan. 4, they got ambushed last Saturday by the Auburn Tigers in a 72-59 road loss. The Razorbacks’ outside shooting deserted Arkansas, which went just 2/16 from deep. However, Arkansas’s not really a good outside-shooting team in the first place. They simply were forced to take that many shots from behind the arc because of the game’s script. Look for Arkansas to execute better offensively this time even in the face of a stout Alabama defense. While they’re not an elite offensive team, Arkansas can’t be as bad as it was in the Auburn game for the second game in a row. Ricky Council IV, who scored just 14 points against Auburn, is averaging 18.1 points per outing.

The Under is 5-0 in Arkansas’ last five games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Arkansas wins, 77-75.
