Kansas Jayhawks vs Oklahoma Sooners Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NCAA Football Betting Preview | October 15 2022

The Kansas Jayhawks failed their first test against a ranked opponent. They fell prey in Week 6 at home to the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs, 38-31. The Jayhawks can rebound right away, though, as they have the Oklahoma Sooners coming up on their schedule in Week 7. The Sooners are also coming off a bad loss – a much worse one, actually – as they got absolutely destroyed by the Texas Longhorns in Norman Saturday, 49-0. Check out our preview of this Kansas vs Oklahoma game in Week 7 of the 2022 college football season.

TV Broadcast: ESPN

Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks (+7.0)

Record: 5-2 Overall / 2-1 Conference

The Jayhawks did not just suffer a loss in last Saturday’s meeting with TCU. Kansas might also have temporarily – at least – lost quarterback Jalon Daniels, who suffered a shoulder injury in the first half of that game. If Daniels can’t give it a go in Week 7, the Jayhawks will turn to backup Jason Bean, who went 5/10 for 89 passing yards (0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions) against TCU. With more time to prepare and with a better view of the situation plus the fact that Oklahoma has been bad this season, Bean can be expected to put together a much better performance Saturday.

Kansas is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games overall.

Betting on the Oklahoma Sooners (-7.0)

Record: 3-3 Overall / 0-3 Conference

If only Oklahoma could erase every memory it has of its embarrassing loss to the Longhorns over the weekend. Even with the kind of season the Sooners are having, they should have shown up with better performance than the one they had in that game. Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers was simply too much for Oklahoma’s defense, but the Sooners might not have to worry as much about defending against a quarterback next Saturday, especially if it will be Dean who gets the start for the Jayhawks. The Sooners are also hoping they get back starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel after missing his services in Week 6 due to concussion protocols.

Oklahoma is 10-0 straight up in its last 10 meetings with the Jayhawks.

Writer’s Prediction

Kansas wins, 33-29.
