Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (-13.0)

Record: 7-1 Overall / 4-1 Conference

Alabama did not waste much time recovering from its 3-point loss to the Tennessee Volunteers on the road in Week 7, as the Crimson Tide beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs at home in Week 8, 30-6. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young went just 21/35 but had 249 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. Alabama is still a top-tier team even though it is currently out of the CFP picture. The Crimson Tide are fourth in scoring offense in the nation with 43.1 points per game and seventh in scoring defense with just 16.6 points allowed per outing. LSU’s defense might not be ready for Alabama’s attack just yet, considering it allowed 40 points to Tennessee a few weeks ago.

Alabama is 4-2 against the spread.

Betting on the LSU Tigers (+13.0)

Record: 6-2 Overall / 4-1 Conference

Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels is coming into his own. He has been spectacular over the last three LSU games, during which he passed for 897 yards and six touchdowns with only an interception. In the win over Ole Miss, Daniels went 21/28 for 248 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. He also rushed for three touchdow3ns on 23 carries. It’s the second game in a row where he rushed for that many touchdowns. Daniels will be a problem for Alabama. But credit should also go to LSU’s solid offensive line work in opening up routes to run for Daniels. That o-line will be tested anew by the Crimson Tide’s stellar front seven.

LSU is 2-0 against the spread in its last two games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Alabama wins, 40-24.
