Betting on the Auburn Tigers (+21.5)
Record: 5-6 Overall / 2-5 Conference
Auburn easily covered its spread in Week 12 against the Hilltoppers as a 5.5-point home favorite. The Tigers are now 4-0 against the spread in their last four November games, and that also includes their win over the Aggies a couple of weeks ago, also at home. Alabama is a much different animal, but with Alabama carrying momentum and the Tigers not really all that much of a stranger when it comes to upsetting the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, they shouldn’t be counted out of this contest. The Tigers have a solid rushing attack that started Week 12 ranked inside the top 50 in the nation with 186.7 rushing yards per game.
Auburn is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games overall.
Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (-21.5)
Record: 9-2 Overall / 5-2 Conference
Alabama has scored a total of 64 points in its last two points while allowing just 24 points total, thanks in large part to the Crimson Tide’s blanking of Austin Peay. Bryce Young passed for 221 yards and two touchdowns versus the Governors, while Jase McClellan collected a sum of 156 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on just 17 carries in that contest. Meanwhile, Jermaine Burton finished with 128 receiving yards and two touchdowns on seven catches. Alabama already has an uncharacteristic two losses this season, but it still should be viewed as arguably the most dangerous team in the nation, especially when it’s at home.
Alabama is 18-7 against the spread in its last 25 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Alabama wins, 30-17.
