The Eagles toyed with Pittsburgh in Week 8. Jalen Hurts threw four touchdowns and 285 yards on 19/28 completions. Wide receiver AJ Brown exploded for 156 receiving yards and three touchdowns on six catches and 11 targets. Philadelphia is looking unstoppable and definitely will be the overpowering favorite to win this coming Thursday against one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Look for Hurts and the Eagles’ running backs to hurt Houston’s defense that is allowing the most rushing yards per game this season.
The Eagles are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven Thursday games.
Betting on the Houston Texans (+14.0)
Regular Season Record: 1-5-1
First of all, we still don’t know as of this writing whether Brandon Cooks would still be with the Texans by the time they face the Eagles on Thursday. If he gets traded before Tuesday’s trade deadline, then that will be a punch to the stomach of Houston’s offense which is already not faring well in the first place. In any case, the Texans continue to watch running back Dameon Pierce mature. The rookie had 35 rushing yards in the Titans game but also had a touchdown reception and three catches on five targets. The Texans are bad, but they’ve shown the ability to stay close and be stubborn against stronger opponents.
The Under is 5-1 in Houston’s last six games in November.
Writer’s Prediction
The Eagles win, 33-13.
