Line: Carolina Panthers (+7.5) vs Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5) – view all 2022 NFL lines

TV Broadcast: FOX

Betting on the Carolina Panthers (+7.5)

Regular Season Record: 2-6

Even though the season is already looking lost for Carolina, the Panthers can still feel a bit optimistic about their upcoming games because quarterback PJ Walker has looked better than most expected as a starter. In the loss to the Falcons, Walker passed for 317 yards and a touchdown with an interception in 19/36 completions. Even if Baker Mayfield is ready to play in Week 9, Carolina might just stick to Walker, who’s made the team’s offense play with more life. Defensively, the Panthers’ pass rushers could have success against the Bengals, who just allowed Joe Burrow to get sacked five times last Monday.

The Panthers are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games in Week 9.

Bet on the Carolina Panthers

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5)

Regular Season Record: 4-4

The Bengals got torched by Cleveland on both ends of the field in Week 8, but if there was anything encouraging about the play of Cincy in that game, it was the performance of Tee Higgins, especially in the second half. The Bengals played without star wideout Ja’Marr Chase (hip injury) so Higgins was expected to step up. He had 49 receiving yards and a touchdown on three catches and six targets, and he should be doing more the next time around, with Chase unlikely to return anytime soon. Carolina’s pass defense is highly questionable so expect Burrow and the Bengals to cook up better numbers in Week 9.

The Bengals are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games after a loss of more than 14 points.

Bet on the Bengals

Writer’s Prediction

The Bengals win, 28-20.
