Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (+9.5)
Regular Season Record: 7-7
The Seahawks are not having any luck of late, as they have lost their last two games. The last time they were on the field, they suffered a 21-13 home loss to the Carolina Panthers. Both Seattle’s recent two losses were on the road, too, so perhaps stepping out of the comfort of their home could be a good thing for the Seahawks, who are 3-3 against the spread this season in games played away from Seattle. The Seahawks still possess a dangerous offense that is seventh in the NFL with 25.4 points per game and 14th in total offense with 349.6 total yards per outing. Kansas City’s defense has been exposed a number of this season so don’t be surprised if Geno Smith balls out in Week 16.
The Over is 5-1 in the Seahawks’ last six road games.
Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (-9.5)
Regular Season Record: 11-3
The Chiefs are coming off a 30-24 overtime win over the Houston Texans last Sunday. Considering the quality of their opponent, the Chiefs probably are not feeling so high about that win. But that should also fuel Patrick Mahomes and company to do much better this coming weekend. Kansas City remains a superpower, in any case. It is averaging close to 30 points per game and nearly 430 total yards per contest, leading the entire NFL in those statistical departments. The Chiefs surely can torch Seattle’s stop unit which is fourth-worst in the league with 25.4 points allowed per game.
The Under is 4-0 in the Chiefs’ last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Chiefs win, 34-27.
