Regular Season Record: 7-9
The Browns don’t have a lot to show for this season, but they have a chance to sweep AFC North division rival Pittsburgh in the regular season with a win this coming Sunday on the road. Cleveland beat the Steelers back in Week 3 at home, 29-17, and that was when the Browns were still starting Jacoby Brissett under center. This time around, they’ll have Deshaun Watson, who passed for 169 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions in a 24-10 road win over the Washington Commanders in Week 17. Cleveland’s defense also sent a strong message to the Steelers with a stout performance in the Washington game, coming away with three interceptions and three sacks.
The Browns are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 outings versus AFC North teams.
Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 8-8
Just like the Browns, the Steelers were utilizing a different starting quarterback back in Week 3 when they lost to Cleveland, as they had then Mitchell Trubisky under center. Trubisky has since been replaced by Kenny Pickett, who’s having more success compared to his veteran signal-caller teammate. In the last Steelers game, Pickett led his team to another game-winning drive and finished with 168 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 15/27 completions in a 16-13 win over the Baltimore Ravens on the road last Sunday. Running back Najee Harris coming off a solid performance, rushing for 111 yards on 22 carries.
The Steelers, who have won five of their last six games and all of their last three, are 5-0 against the spread in their last five versus a team with a losing record.
Writer’s Prediction
The Browns win, 23-20.
