Betting on the Phoenix Suns (+4.5)
Regular Season Record: 37-30
The Suns are coming off a 128-119 home loss to the Sacramento Kings last Saturday. However, Phoenix has not lost consecutively since mid-January. Before their loss to the Kings, the Suns were on a four-game win streak. And while the Warriors have rarely lost at home this season, Phoenix won the last time it played at Chase Center on Jan. 10, 125-113. The Suns did not even have Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton available in that game. For this Monday’s matchup, those three players will be out there. Booker must still be hot after going off for 28 points on 11/19 shooting versus the Kings, while Ayton had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds in that contest for the Suns, who are fourth overall in the NBA this season with only 111.2 points allowed per game.
The Suns are 4-0 straight up and 3-1 against the spread in their last four games versus Golden State.
Betting on the Golden State Warriors (-4.5)
Regular Season Record: 35-33
When at home, the Warriors are the closest thing to a sure shot. The Warriors ended a three-game losing skid when they downed the Milwaukee Bucks at Chase Center last Saturday, 125-116 via overtime. Stephen Curry exploded for 36 points, while Kevin Looney had seven points to go with his monster haul of 15 rebounds. The Warriors are simply a different animal when they’re in front of the home crowd. On the season, Golden State is a towering 28-7 in the Bay Area. The Warriors clearly thrive in home games, even defying often recent losing trends to come out on top at Chase Center. Curry has averaged 31.7 points on 47.8 FG% in three games against the Suns this season.
The Warriors are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Warriors win, 115-114.
