Betting on the Boston Celtics (-3.5)

Regular Season Record: 57-25

The Celtics have a must-win scenario in Game 3. No team in NBA history has ever won a series after falling behind 3-0, so Boston is going to prevent that from happening to them this Sunday night. To that end, the Celtics are going to need Jayson Tatum to be at his best from start to finish of Game 3. Tatum led the Celtics in Game 2 with 34 points but did not factor much in the fourth quarter – or when his team needed him the most. Although the series is now going to Miami, the Celtics are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. They are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in South Beach.

Betting on the Miami Heat (+3.5)

Regular Season Record: 44-38

Miami is one unforgiving squad. The Heat are pulling off one shocker after another in the playoffs, and it appears that they are not going to be stopped by anything. In Game 2, Jimmy Butler went off for 27 points, as he abused whoever it was the Celtics put in front of him. Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo had 22 points and 17 rebounds to go with nine assists in 38 minutes. Miami’s ensemble of undrafted players are also playing like stars, with the like of Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, Caleb Martin, and Duncan Robinson providing ample scoring support and hustle for the Heat, who are averaging 113.8 points per game so far in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. The Heat are also 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games. In addition, Miami is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games versus a team with a winning record on the road.

Writer’s Prediction

The Celtics win, 115-108.
