New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles (7:05 PM ET)
Line: New York Yankees (+126) at Baltimore Orioles (-136); total: 8.5 – see all MLB lines
[sc:MLB240banner ]Baltimore’s offense has been on fire of late, averaging 9.0 runs per game in its last four. Three of those games have gone over the total, including the Orioles’ 11-3 win last night against the Bronx Bombers.
The O’s offense will be tested anew tonight against Shane Greene (3-1, 2.89 ERA) who threw seven-plus scoreless innings in the Yankees 3-0 win at Camden Yards last July 12th. The Yankees have won in four of Greene’s last six starts.
Writer’s prediction: The Yankees bring down Baltimore.
Detroit Tigers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (7:05 PM ET)
Line: Detroit Tigers at Pittsburgh Pirates – see all MLB lines
Three straight losses have the Tigers on the verge of pushing the panic button. They have given up 24 runs in four games, with the total going over in three of those contests. Meanwhile, the Pirates look to add to Detroit’s woes as they start Edinson Volquez (9-7, 3.70 ERA). The Pirates are 6-1 in Volquez’s last seven starts overall.
Writer’s prediction: The Pirates make go up 2-0 in the series.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves (7:10 PM ET)
Line: Los Angeles Dodgers (+117) at Atlanta Braves (-127); total: 8.0 – see all MLB lines
The Dodgers continued their domination of Atlanta with a 6-2 win last night at Turner Field. Los Angeles is now 6-0 in its last six meetings against Atlanta. The Braves, meanwhile, will start Mike Minor (4-7, 5.42 ERA) in the second game of the series opposite the Dodgers’ Dan Haren (9-9, 4.57 ERA). Atlanta is 3-0 in Minor’s last three starts against Los Angeles, while the Dodgers are also 3-0 in Haren’s last three appearances on the mound versus the Braves.
Writer’s prediction: The Dodgers’ offense causes major headache for Minor and the Braves, as LA wins.

Oakland Athletics vs. Kansas City Royals (8:10 PM ET)
Line: Oakland Athletics (-153) at Kansas City Royals (+138); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines
After toppling Sonny Gray and the A’s with a 3-2 win in the series opener, the Royals moved to the top of the AL Central, leapfrogging erstwhile leader Detroit. Up next for Kansas City, which is now 8-0 in its last eight games, is another stiff challenge in Oakland’s Jon Lester (12-7, 2.44 ERA). Lester hasn’t lost since coming over to the A’s, who are 2-0 in his two starts thus far with the ball club. Furthermore, Lester has given former team Boston and Oakland a combined 9-1 record in his last 10 starts overall.
Writer’s prediction: Lester shuts the door on the Royals, as Oakland wins.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners (10:10 PM ET)
Line: Toronto Blue Jays (+114) at Seattle Mariners (-124); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines
Chris Young (10-6, 3.27 ERA) has a tough act to follow after Mariners’ ace Felix Hernandez made mincemeat of the Blue Jays in the team’s 11-1 win last night. Young has not allowed more than three earned runs in nine of his last 10 starts, seven of which have resulted in wins for the Mariners. The visiting Blue Jays will have J.A. Happ (8-6, 4.09 ERA) on the mound later. They have won six of Happ’s last 10 road starts.
Writer’s prediction: The Blue Jays get it together to notch a win against Seattle.
