Top Games to Bet on

NFL: Minnesota Vikings vs New York Giants (8:40 PM ET)

Josh Freeman is set to make his first start at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. The former Buccaneer might not have a healthy Adrian Peterson in the backfield. The reigning MVP, still only days removed from the death of his son, is also suffering from a hamstring problem which could limit his effectiveness against the Giants. Minnesota is 4-1 SU in their last 5 games vs the Giants.

Odds: Vikings (+3.5) vs Giants (-3.5); O/U: 48.0

Eli Manning and the Giants are still in search of their first win of the season. Manning’s interception problems continued last week against the Bears (3 INTs, 1 pick-6), but Brandon Jacobs finally injected hope into a league-worst rushing attack with a 106-yard, 2 TD performance. Newly-signed Peyton Hillis will make his debut tonight and could bolster their ground game. The NY Giants are 6-3 SU in their last 9 home games.

NHL: Colorado Avalanche vs Pittsburgh Penguins (7:30 PM ET)

Two of the hottest teams in the NHL clash on the ice as the Colorado Avalanche and the Pittsburgh Penguins meet tonight.

Patrick Roy has made a blistering start to his coaching career. The Avalanche are 7-1 in their last 8 games overall. The Hall of Fame goalie should be pleased by the performance of his goalies thus far; Semyon Varmalov and Jean-Sebastien Giguere have combined to allow just 1.5 goals per game.

Odds: Avalanche (+145) vs Pengiuns (-165); O/U: 5.5

The Avs goalies will have their work cut out for them trying to keep the streaking Penguins at bay. Led by Sidney Crosby (17 points, 1st in NHL), the Pens are once again the pace-setters in the Eastern Conference. The Penguins, who are going for a fifth straight win, are also 4-0 in last 4 games against the Avs.
